Next stop on The Travellers Series: Spain.
We created The Travellers Series earlier this year to celebrate our 10yrs collaborations with four different international breweries. After receiving such positive feedback from y’all, we’ve decided to make The Travellers Series an ongoing celebration of collaborations with overseas breweries we admire.
The next stop on our list? Spain! We’ve got a very special relationship with Spain, not only because of its sunshine, food, wine and culture (although they do help) but also because we’ve made some very special friends during our visits there.
This past Spring we travelled from Galicia to Madrid, and then on to Girona. We had met Judit and Michael from DosKiwis Brewing during a tap takeover at Cafe El Birrot back in 2023, then visited their brewery the following day. After our visit, Judit and Michael invited us over to their home of Rupià to brew a collab during our next trip to Spain.
You'll find Rupià in Catalonia, between Girona, the Pyrenees and Costa Brava. It’s a small and beautiful village with a population displaying a strong sense of self, similar to Cornwall. Their brewery and taproom are a wonderful place we instantly fell in love with, as well as their beers! Naturally, we had to invite them back to Cornwall for a return brew. RUPIÀ, as we named our collab IPA, is packed full of beautiful lots of Motueka and Riwaka melding wonderfully with the ever-magical Citra. Citric tropics, squelchy limes and hedgerow funk. Delish.
