Medes Pils
A bright, balanced pilsner with crisp citrus character and a clean, refreshing finish.
NZ PilsnerMotueka and Nelson Sauvin5.2
volume: 440ml
Bright straw yellow in the glass, it opens with delicate aromas of hay, flowers, and gooseberry from Nelson Sauvin and Motueka hops. On the palate it is lean and refreshing, with subtle white grapefruit notes and a gentle bitterness that keeps everything crisp and balanced. It stays clean and straightforward throughout, built around clarity and drinkability, but with enough citrus and floral hop character to stand out from more classic lagers. The finish is dry, with a pleasant, persistent bitterness that carries through without heaviness.
The name comes from the Medes Islands, one of the best-known landmarks on the Costa Brava. It’s the kind of beer we imagined drinking while sitting somewhere looking out over the Mediterranean on a hot afternoon. The bird on the label is the Grey Heron, a calm and elegant wetland bird commonly found around the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà and the Medes Islands. Slow, graceful, and perfectly at home by the water, it felt like the right match for this beer.
